Nacogdoches County Jail Roster

The Nacogdoches County, Texas Jail Roster is a public resource that allows anyone to check if a person is in custody. NacogdochesCourt.us provides access to publicly available information about current and recent inmates. Additionally, data can be obtained through the official sheriff's website, by visiting the jail in person, or by calling. The roster allows you to find out the detention status, charges filed, and bail information. It is maintained by the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office under the leadership of Sheriff Jason Bridges; data is regularly updated and posted on the sheriff's website.

Find Nacogdoches Jail Booking Records Online

A booking record is created when a detained person is officially registered in the jail. This process includes fingerprinting, photographing, recording personal data, and entering information into the electronic system.

Each record contains:

  • A unique booking number
  • The date and time of registration
  • Charges filed
  • The name of the agency that made the arrest
  • The bail amount, if set

These records are available online through the inmate search portal on the sheriff's website. If additional documents are needed — such as a copy of the arrest report — an open-records request can be submitted by email to records@nac-sheriff.com or in person at the sheriff's office. The Texas Public Information Act guarantees the right to access government records; more details about the procedure are available on the county public information page.

Court materials related to the case are maintained by the District Clerk. If a state-level criminal history is needed, a request can be directed to the Crime Records Division of the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Search the Nacogdoches Jail Roster by Last Name or Booking Number

There are two main methods available on the search portal.

Search by Last Name

Enter the last name in Latin letters exactly as it appears in official documents. Adding the first name narrows the results. Try several spelling variations if the last name may have alternative transliterations — the system usually requires an exact match.

Search by Booking Number

If you already have the booking number (for example, from a lawyer or a previous search), enter it — this is the fastest way to find a specific record.

If No Results

The absence of results does not always mean the person was not detained. Here are possible reasons:

  • The person has already been released or transferred to another facility.
  • The last name was entered incorrectly or differs from the legal name.
  • Registration is not yet complete — several hours may pass between the actual arrest and the appearance of the record in the system.

In such cases, call the jail directly at (936) 560-7794.

Jail Roster Updates and Search Limitations in Nacogdoches

The inmate roster is updated periodically throughout the day, but this does not happen instantly. Between the time of arrest and the appearance of the record in the online database, several hours to the end of the business day may pass — depending on staff workload and time of day.

Main limitations to be aware of:

  • Publication delay. New records appear after the booking procedure is completed, not at the time of detention.
  • Disappearance of records after release. When an inmate is released on bail, by court decision, or after serving a term, their record is usually removed from the active roster.
  • Not an archive. The roster reflects only the current inmate composition. It does not contain a history of all previous bookings.
  • Data entry errors. Sometimes inaccuracies in name spelling or dates occur, complicating the search.

To obtain archival records or information about past arrests, submit a written request to the sheriff's office in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act. Records subject to a court decision on expunction or nondisclosure are not subject to disclosure.
